Welcome to Lucy's Lazy Dayz Primitives, home of the finest handmade primitive dolls. These primitives, handmade by Lucy, are usually rag stuffed, and often have needle sculpted or hand embroidered faces. Nearly all are Lucy's original designs.
Our raggedies are nearly always hand embroidered and come in many sizes and styles.
The primitive dolls come in a variety of sizes and styles and again are rag stuffed for weight. The clothing is also hand made by Lucy.
The primitive Santas, both black and white, are hand made with beautiful raw wool beards and wool or quilt robes. Some have hand embroidered eyes or needle sculpted noses and sometimes both.
We also offer beautiful hand embroidered, primitive stitcheries as well as some very nice folk art items. Be sure to check out my Halloween items.
Being primitives, all of the items are stained, some more than others, so please read the information with the photos. Thank you, and enjoy shopping at Lucy's Lazy Dayz Primitives.
GOING GREEN...I have finally finished my first GREEN doll made entirely of renewable resources and recycled (I think you can call it that) paint. Check her out under GOING GREEN
Look for GREENin the descriptions. GREEN means the item is "environmentally friendly & ecologically responsible", big words meaning (to me) made with natural and susutainable (grown, not made of chemicals) materials & repourposed or recycled materials. For GREEN items I use wool, cotton and linen fabrics for bodies. I use raw wool, natural cotton as weel as grass, sawdust or recycled fabrics for stuffing (the descriptions will tell you what I've used). I use raw wool, cotton and flax for hair. All the buttons are recycled from old clothing. The stains are coffee, vanilla and other natural products. The paints I use contain no lead. Most of my paints are "color mixing" mistakes from the hardware store as well as leftovers from my friends and my own painting projects around the house. All of my fabric leftovers are used in my rag stuffed bodies. I WASTE ALMOST NOTHING.
