Welcome to Lucy's Lazy Dayz Primitives, your source for fine handmade primitive and folk art dolls and patterns. You will find Santas, Humpty Dumpty, snowmen, cats, bunnies, Uncle Sams and many every day dolls. Finished dolls are all completely handmade by Lucy. They are usually rag stuffed, and often have needle sculpted or hand embroidered faces. Nearly all are Lucy's original designs. These are ARTISTIC CREATIONS AND NOT MEANT TO BE TOYS The patterns are all designed by Lucy
Our raggedy dolls have hand embroidered features and come in many sizes and styles.
The other primitive and folk art dolls come in a variety of sizes and styles and again are rag stuffed for weight. The clothing is also hand made by Lucy.
The primitive and folk art Santas, both black and white, are hand made with beautiful raw wool beards and wool or quilt robes. Some have hand embroidered eyes or needle sculpted noses and sometimes both.
We also offer beautiful hand made cats, rabbits, sheep, pig, cows and horses.
My handmade Halloween witches, scarecrows, jack o lanterns and pumpkin people are among my most popular items.
Being primitives, all of the items are stained, some more than others, so please read the information with the photos. Thank you, and enjoy shopping at Lucy's Lazy Dayz Primitives.
Don't forget to check out our primitive and folk art patterns and epatterns. I also offer raw wool and flax fibers for sale to use for hair and beards.
All prices are U.S. dollars and include FREE shipping within the 48 United States. People outside the 48 US states, e-mail me for rates. I allow a credit equal to average US shipping cost. I now accept all major credit cards by phone. My number is on the order page. I now sell finished items at TOMAH ANTIQUE MALL/CRANBERRY COUNTRY MALL at 1510 Eaton Avenue, Tomah, WI. If you're in the area, stop by. I have a space that's everyday and Halloween and a second space that's Christmas year round with Santas, snowmen and everything for the winter holidays. Even better, there are frequently coupons available there so if you purchase one item, you get a discount on a second item of equal or lesser value.
I use wool, cotton or linen fabrics for bodies. Many of these are recycled and upcycled from thrift shop finds. I use raw wool, cotton and flax for hair. The stains are coffee, vanilla and other natural products. The paints I use contain no lead. Most of my paints are "color mixing" mistakes from the hardware store as well as leftovers recycled from my friends leftovers and my own painting projects around the house. All of my fabric leftovers are recycled into my rag stuffed bodies. I WASTE ALMOST NOTHING.
